The second SeeRRI Lower Austria workshop will be held at the Steinschalerhof Hotel, set in Rabenstein an der Pielach in the beautiful Dirndl Valley region, on 2nd and 3rd July. Under the title “Development of Futures for the Polymer Industry in Lower Austria”, the two-day event will examine how the local polymer industry can make significant contributions to reducing CO2 emissions, promote environmentally friendly production processes and save resources. Following the first workshop held in February, at which stakeholders carried out an analysis of the sector and identified key factors for a successful move towards a CO2-neutral economy, participants will outline future scenarios for the industry that take into account the value chain as a whole. Representatives of industry, science, public authorities and the civilian population will work together using a responsible research and innovation (RRI) approach to shape development strategies with the potential to achieve outcomes that benefit all parties involved. Professor Johann Fellner of the Vienna Institute of Technology will be the keynote speaker at the workshop, which will be hosted and led by Marianne Hörlesberger and Andrea Kasztker (AIT) alongside Harald Bleier (ecoplus). There will also be a live link with Nhien Nguyen (Nordland Research Institute). We look forward to updating all with the outcomes and conclusions of this latest stakeholder meeting shortly.
